1945 Dated K98k Ammo Pouch
This is an example of a 1944 dated ammo pouch. Most latewar K98k ammo pouches are simply marked with an RB Number, a manufacturers coding system used in the latewar period to mask manufacturing locations. These usually don't include a date of manufacture, but a few actually do. Presented here is one such pouch, marked with the makers RB Nummer and the date "45". The pouches made in 1945 are different - in January 1945 the pattern was amended to allow the manufacturers to use a single layer of leather on the rear, and RB Number marked pouches made with a single layer of leather on the back are 1945 produced.
